About Softeron Capsule
Softeron Capsule is a combination drug containing Docusate sodium, Iron, and Folic Acid (vitamin B9). Folic acid plays a crucial role in various bodily functions, aiding in nucleotide biosynthesis and homocysteine remethylation. It is particularly vital during phases of rapid cell division and growth. Both children and adults need folic acid for the production of healthy red blood cells and the prevention of anemia.
Iron present in Softeron Capsule helps in transporting oxygen throughout the body and maintaining red blood cells, thus boosting energy levels and preventing anemia. However, iron supplements can sometimes lead to issues like constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps, or upset stomach. To combat constipation, docusate sodium has been included in the capsule formulation. Docusate sodium acts as a stool softener, providing relief from occasional constipation and typically resulting in a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours.
The key ingredients in Softeron Capsule are Ferrous Fumarate IP 165 mg (Equivalent to Elemental Iron 54 mg), Folic Acid, and Docusate Sodium IP. This capsule is primarily used for managing conditions such as iron deficiency anemia, iron deficiency caused by chronic blood loss or inadequate iron intake, and nutritional anemia occurring during pregnancy and lactation.
Softeron Capsule can be taken orally with water after meals, and it is essential to use this supplement under medical supervision. It belongs to the class of nutritional supplements primarily utilized to address anemia, characterized by iron and hemoglobin deficiencies. In addition to treating anemia, Softeron Capsule also helps alleviate constipation during pregnancy. Anemia occurs when the body lacks sufficient red blood cells to transport the required oxygen to various tissues.
When taken as prescribed, Softeron Capsule plays a crucial role in replenishing iron levels and combating anemia. Folic acid, iron, and docusate sodium work synergistically to enhance the production of red blood cells in the body, ensuring an adequate oxygen supply to tissues. Pregnant women are advised to consult their doctors before using Softeron Capsule, as folic acid is crucial in preventing miscarriages and neural tube defects in infants.
It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage of Softeron Capsule and consult a healthcare professional if any side effects such as stomach pain, loss of appetite, bloating, or diarrhea occur. Individuals allergic to any component of Softeron Capsule should refrain from taking it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before incorporating this supplement into their routine. Children under 12 years should only use Softeron Capsule under strict medical supervision to ensure safe and effective treatment.
