About Selbo 800 Tablet

Selbo 800 Tablet, also known as Selbo-800 Tablet or SELBO 800MG TABLET, is a medication used to treat high levels of phosphate in the blood, a condition known as hyperphosphatemia. It is primarily prescribed for adult patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis treatment. This tablet contains the active ingredient Sevelamer, which belongs to a class of drugs called phosphate binders. Sevelamer works by binding phosphate in the gut, reducing its absorption and consequently lowering phosphate levels in the blood.

Patients taking Selbo 800 Tablet are advised to follow their doctor's dosage instructions carefully. It should be taken with food, at the same time each day, to ensure maximum effectiveness. Regular intake of the medication helps in controlling phosphate levels, preventing the unsafe accumulation of phosphate in the body, maintaining bone strength, and reducing the risk of heart disease and strokes.

However, like any medication, Selbo 800 Tablet may cause side effects. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, flatulence, and upper abdominal pain. Patients experiencing persistent or severe side effects are advised to consult their doctor for proper guidance. It is important to inform your doctor if you have a history of allergies to any ingredients in the medication, low phosphate levels, or bowel obstruction before starting treatment with Selbo 800 Tablet.

Patients with certain conditions like difficulty swallowing, motility issues in the stomach and bowel, prior gastrointestinal surgery, or inflammatory bowel disease should exercise caution while using Selbo 800 Tablet. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before taking this medication, and its safety during breastfeeding is uncertain, so nursing mothers should seek medical advice before starting treatment. Selbo 800 Tablet is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years old.

To monitor for any potential adverse effects during treatment, patients may need to undergo specific tests as recommended by their healthcare provider. Keeping a close eye on diet and following the doctor's instructions are essential for successful management of high phosphate levels with Selbo 800 Tablet.
