About Gabator NT 200 Tablet

Gabator NT 200 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat neuropathic pain in adults. Neuropathic pain is caused by damage to sensory nerves due to various factors like chronic progressive nerve diseases, infections, or injuries. The pain can vary from occasional to continuous, and it is often described as a prickling, stabbing, tingling, or burning sensation.

This medication contains two active ingredients - Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. Gabapentin works by binding to specific sites on voltage-gated calcium channels, which helps in relieving nerve pain. Nortriptyline acts by prolonging the effects of serotonin and noradrenaline, thereby preventing the movement of pain signals in the brain.

Gabator NT 200 Tablet should be taken orally, with or without food, and preferably at night. It is crucial to take it at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of the medicine in the bloodstream. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Completing the full course of treatment is vital even if you start feeling better. Do not stop taking this medication abruptly without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms.

Common side effects of Gabator NT 200 Tablet include constipation, difficulty in urination, weight gain, tiredness, dry mouth, dizziness, and sleepiness. It is advised not to drive or engage in activities requiring mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Regular exercise and a balanced diet can help control weight gain as a potential side effect. Inform your doctor promptly if you experience any unusual changes in mood, as this medication may lead to suicidal thoughts.

Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease. Also, disclose all other medications you are currently taking, as some may interact with Gabator NT 200 Tablet. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication. Additionally, it is not recommended for individuals who have had recent heart attacks, heart block, coronary artery disease, or certain heart rhythm disorders. Gabator NT 200 Tablet is not suitable for use in children under 18 years of age and should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age. If you experience worsening symptoms over time, seek advice from your doctor promptly.
