About Emtaf-B Tablet

Emtaf-B Tablet is a medication used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. By preventing the multiplication of viruses in human cells, it inhibits the production of new viruses, ultimately helping to clear up the infection. It is essential to take Emtaf-B Tablet as prescribed by your doctor, without skipping any doses and completing the full course of treatment, even if symptoms improve. Taking this medication with food enhances its absorption into the body. It is crucial to continue taking Emtaf-B Tablet until your doctor advises otherwise.

Common side effects of Emtaf-B Tablet may include headache, diarrhea, nausea, joint pain, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Although these side effects are typically mild, it is important to consult your doctor if they persist. Rarely, individuals may experience skin reactions or liver damage. Regular monitoring by your doctor during the initial phase of treatment can help in addressing any potential complications.

Emtaf-B Tablet contains Tenofovir alafenamide, classified under Anti-viral drugs, specifically used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection in individuals aged 12 years and older. Hepatitis B is a liver-infecting virus that can lead to long-term infection and liver damage, displaying symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, lack of appetite, jaundice, seizures, and vomiting. It is important to inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, hepatitis C or D, HIV infection, or sugar intolerances before starting treatment with Emtaf-B Tablet.

If you are a pregnant woman, caution must be exercised when using Emtaf-B Tablet, and it is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Before initiating treatment, your doctor may request various blood tests to assess your health condition. Precautions should be taken during the course of treatment to avoid spreading the infection to others through sexual contact. It is not advisable to administer Emtaf-B Tablet to children younger than 12 years or weighing less than 35 kgs. Elderly patients aged 65 years and above should use the medication cautiously.

The most common side effects associated with Emtaf-B Tablet include headache, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, joint pain, rash, itching, and fatigue. If any of these side effects worsen or persist, consulting your doctor is advisable.
