About Adcyclo Tablet

Adcyclo Tablet is a medication used to treat various types of cancers, including lymphoma, leukaemia, nerve tissue cancer, and breast cancer. It is also prescribed for kidney disease known as nephrotic syndrome in children when other treatments have not been effective. The tablet contains an active ingredient called Cyclophosphamide, which is an alkylating agent that works by stopping the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. By damaging the genetic material of the cancer cells, it helps in treating cancer by killing them.

It is important to take Adcyclo Tablet as per your doctor's instructions. The recommended dosage should be taken with food, preferably in the morning, at the same time every day to maximize its benefits. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose based on your condition, which may change over time. Taking the medication improperly or exceeding the prescribed amount can lead to severe side effects. It may take some time, possibly weeks or months, for you to notice the positive effects of the medication, so it is essential not to stop taking it unless advised by your doctor.

Common side effects of Adcyclo Tablet may include vomiting, nausea, hair loss, fever, and blood in the urine. If these side effects persist or worsen, it is important to inform your doctor. Some people may experience more serious side effects due to the potent nature of the medication. Adcyclo Tablet may also lower your body's ability to fight infections and impact your blood, liver, or kidneys. Regular blood tests are usually advised by your doctor to monitor for any potential issues. It is recommended to increase fluid intake to ensure proper kidney function and prevent bladder problems.

Prior to taking Adcyclo Tablet, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems or if you are currently using any medications for infections. Due to possible interactions with other medicines, it is crucial to disclose all medications you are taking to your doctor. The use of this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended as it may harm the baby. Effective contraception is advised for both men and women during treatment to prevent pregnancy.

Adcyclo Tablet should not be used if you are allergic to any of its components or have bladder obstruction or urination issues. Avoid driving if you experience dizziness while taking this medication. For pediatric patients, the tablet should only be administered as per the doctor's prescription. Always consult your doctor about your health condition and medications to mitigate any potential side effects or interactions.
