It is commonly used for the diagnosis or treatment of chest pain associated with restricted blood supply, heart's left ventricular failure accompanying heart attack, high blood pressure during cardiac surgery . It has some side effects such as Allergic skin rashes,Feeling weak,Dizziness,Drowsiness. The salts Glyceryl Trinitrate are involved in the preparation of Nitrocin Spray.
