It has some side effects such as Cytotoxicity on mucous membranes and deep tissue,Anaphylactic reaction,Hypernatremia,Conjunctival hyperemia. The salts Povidone Iodine are involved in the preparation of Betadine Mouth+Throat 1% Mouth Wash/Gargle.
